Special Education

Students learn best when provided with a safe and supportive environment that offers both challenges and encouragement. At Dry Creek Elementary, we are committed to meeting the needs of learners with unique strengths and needs. Our goal is to educate students in the least restrictive environment while setting high expectations, providing engaging learning experiences, and fostering self-determination skills.

Our special education team includes a Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate Needs), Speech-Language Pathologist, School Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, ELA Specialist, Reading Interventionist, and School Nurse. While a Physical Therapist and Hearing Specialist are not currently servicing our school, they are available if a student’s needs require their support. The team collaborates with teachers to problem solve all student concerns, implement classroom modifications and accommodations, provide effective teaching strategies, and support classroom management approaches.
