Super School News

Super School News is a phenomenal experience for fifth graders across the State of Colorado. After auditioning, seven Dry Creek students were chosen by their teachers to be a part of this amazing program. There are two anchors, four reporters, and one assistant. We all completed collaborative work such as writing our own scripts and creating our own banner out of a little color, paper, and teamwork.  Then, after much hard work, on February 12, we headed to the PBS recording studio in downtown Denver, where we are educated about the magic of television.  Next, our team got in front of the camera and recorded our two-minute newscast about our school. The anchors sat at the news desk with props, and the reporters recorded in front of a "green screen.” The assistant was usually found behind one of the huge cameras. It was an amazing experience, so others should definitely try Super School News if you get a chance!
